Guelph Martial Artist Qualifies for Team Canada

The Team Canada Qualifiers took place this past weekend in Ottawa

Lifetime Guelph resident Nathan Skoufis has officially qualified for Team Canada.

The national martial arts team will be competing later this year at the WKC World Championships. The Team Canada Qualifiers took place this past weekend in Ottawa, Ontario.

Skoufis claimed gold in the 75 KG division at the Canadian Championships.

Skoufis said: "I am humbled to be a part of Team Canada and have the opportunity to represent Canada at the World Championships. I am happy to be back into the competition scene after nearly two years away. Even with the extend layoff due to Covid I could not wait to get back into the ring. I want thank everyone for their support and kindness, I could not do it without all of you. "
