The Insights Juried Exhibition of Fine Arts returns to Wellington County Museum and Archives (WCMA) on March 27 for its 44th year.
"Insights is more than just an art exhibit,"
says Doug Breen, Chair of Wellington County's Information, Heritage and Seniors Committee.
"It's a celebration of our region's artistic talent and an important cultural touchstone our community. I'm proud of our continued support for this long-standing exhibition."
The exhibit is organized and sponsored by the Insights Committee of the Elora Fergus Arts Council and is one of the longest running juried art exhibitions in Ontario.
“The Insights Juried Exhibition of Fine Arts is a testament to the exceptional talent and creativity of artists in Wellington County and neighbouring communities,”
said Susan Thorning, Co-Chair of the Insights Committee.
“We are excited to showcase and celebrate their work and artistic accomplishments."
The Exhibition's Opening Gala is Thursday, March 27 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at WCMA, with the Awards Presentation at 8:00 pm. Admission is by donation, all are welcome to enjoy refreshments, a cash bar, and cast an early vote for the People’s Choice Award (votes can be cast throughout the exhibit, with the winner announced on Friday, May 9 at 1:00 pm).
The Insights Committee has also organized a Walk with the Jurors on Saturday, March 29 from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm. Jurors Kevin Ghiglione, Shauna McCabe, and Colette Laliberté will discuss their decision-making process and the influences on this year’s show. Admission for this event is $5.00.
