The Downtown Guelph Business Association announces the Spirit of the Season festival for the 3rd year

For Immediate Release - June 25, 2025

The Downtown Guelph Business Association (DGBA), representing over 500 business and property owners in the Downtown core, presents a festive event with fun and purpose.

Bringing joy to thousands in the Guelph community on December 5, 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14, it offers the Mayor and Council Tree Lighting, Santa Parade and Run, indoor and outdoor Christmas markets along with great entertainment throughout the two weekends.

Returning for the 3rd year is our Premier Sponsor, Co-operators, a long time Guelph financial services business and community partner. The DGBA is pleased to have the continued support of Co-operators.

For the second year, the DGBA has partnered with the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington’s Keep Kids Fed At Home program. In 2024, the DGBA raised over $32,400 for this initiative which plays a critical role in feeding children in the Guelph community facing severe food insecurity.

Our downtown businesses decorate their storefronts to help turn the area into a festive wonderland. We are pleased to welcome the community and those from other areas to our historic core during the event. “Bringing people together in celebration is always special, but it’s even more meaningful when it helps meet an essential need,” says DGBA Chair Chuck Nash. “We’re honoured to use the reach and joy of Spirit of the Season to raise funds and awareness for Keep Kids Fed at Home.”

A sneak preview of some of the main entertainment includes the returning and ever popular North Fire Circus with two shows on December 13th. Other performances include the Rainbow Choir, Juggler and Magician Noah Nogueira and others. The Children’s Day on December 14th with Santa at Old Quebec Street Shoppes will provide a magical family experience. New this year will be an outdoor Muskoka seating area with fire pits, more food options and new vendors at the indoor and outdoor Christmas markets.
