Ontario Greens leader Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to FOI documents that reveal the Ford government is not on track to meet 2030 climate targets.
“The Ford government’s climate plan was never going to get the job done, and they knew it while insisting that the province was on track to meet its 2030 climate target.
Now, Ontarians are finally seeing the truth: this government has no credible path to cut emissions, and no intention of getting serious about the climate crisis.
While communities across Ontario brace for another brutal wildfire season, the Premier is pouring fuel on the fire, pushing highways and sprawl over clean air and a livable future.
Doug Ford is dragging us backwards on climate and Ontarians are paying the price.”
