Students Against Climate Change

Thursday April 25th - High school students in Headwaters, an environmental leadership program, plan a Student-Led Town Hall on Climate Change

For immediate release: April 10th 2019

GUELPH - On Thursday April 25th from 7-9pm at John McCrae Public School, students will be leading a Town Hall on Climate Change. Municipal leader Mayor Cam Guthrie, MPP Mike Schreiner, and MP Lloyd Longfield will be speaking on a panel.

The Student-Led Town Hall on Climate Change is an event run by a group of Grade 12 students in Headwaters, an environmental leadership program. This Town Hall aims to provide students the platform to be represented on the municipal, provincial, and federal levels of government regarding climate change initiatives.

The first portion of the event will be dedicated to leaders Mayor Cam Guthrie, MPP Mike Schreiner, and MP Lloyd Longfield to present their level of government’s actions on climate change. The rest of the event’s time will be open for students to ask their questions directly to the panel of leaders. We encourage all students to come ready with informed questions, interested in impacting their community’s climate action initiatives.

The general public is welcome to attend.
