UFC Fighter "Wonderboy" comes to Guelph

Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson UFC Fighter and World Champion and father Ray Thompson had a seminar here in Guelph at John F. Ross organized by Nathan Skoufis and Guelph Family Martial Arts

Skoufis is a multiple time world champion and member of Team Canada. Thompson and Skoufis are both karate stylists, both have had accomplished competitive careers with several accolades. Both are martial arts instructors and owners, Thompson of Upstate Karate and Skoufis of famous Guelph Family Martial Arts. 

Both men share a passion for using martial arts as a vehicle to facilitate personal development and growth, martial arts training can develop your human potential. As well as instilling life lessons like focus, discipline, focus, modesty, courtesy, self-control, perseverance and indomitable spirit.  Thompson and Skoufis love the ability to be able to have a positive impact on the community and inspire the next generation of leaders. 

Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson has worked with UFC Champions George St. Pierre and Chris Weidman, he is well-known for his karate style. Thompson has fought against World Champion Tyron Woodley, World Champion Johnny Hendricks, World Champion Robert Whittaker, World Champion Rory MacDonald and Patrick Cote. 

This seminar included participants present from throughout the country and as far as the United States, detailing some of Thompsons techniques he uses in the octagon and the reasoning behind them. The seminar also included question and answer time and signature and photo opportunities. 

This seminar was the only stop in his seminar tour and a special event organized by Skoufis for the area. The seminar scheduled for 1 hour, Thompson loved the fans so much he took the seminar 4 hours in length.
