Guelph, ON, June 5th
Inspired by a recent trip to the Basque region of Spain, local chef and butcher Brett Macdonald started talking tapas to Capistrano Bistro
owner Kevin Polach. They invited new Downtown Guelph cheese store
owner Andrew Wheeler to the conversation and quickly realized they could
join forces and recreate the experience that Brett had so enjoyed on
his European trip.
As owner of Trotters Butcher Shop & Charcuterie, where salami is made onsite, Brett could supply the fine quality meats. Andrew of Carden Street’s soon-to-be-open TOMME Cheese Shop,
where the best local cheeses sit alongside the international cheeses
that inspired them, had the nose for the best queso. And providing the
stylish space, the wine, and the shared passion for fine food was Kevin
Polach.
This collaboration has given us two nights of great food to
look forward to this weekend.
Andrew
Wheeler says “we are offering something not found anywhere else in
Guelph. People who come to our event will likely discover food they’ve
not seen or tried before. There are so many places to eat great food in
Guelph and this event cements Guelph’s reputation as a food
destination”.
Show up (no tickets or reservations required) from 6pm to 11pm on Friday June 8th or Saturday June 9th
and let the experts take care of you. Enjoy tapas from $8, shared
platters that start at $15, and wine selected by sommelier Jamie Clinch.
