Carols For Christmas

Guelph Chamber Choir's Annual "Carols For Christmas" Sunday Matinee Concert with Special Guests "Winter's Eve Trio"on Harp, Accordion and Bass, Returning with Guest Conductor Gerald Neufeld!

For Immediate Realease: November17, 2018

The Guelph Chamber Choir invites you to indulge in the joy of the season with an afternoon concert of Carols for Christmas at St. George’s Anglican Church on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2:30 pm.

Come listen to lesser-known musical gems, and, sing along to familiar carols and Handel's Hallelujah Chorus with the Guelph Chamber Choir in one of the city’s finest acoustic spaces.  We welcome back the Winter’s Eve Trio for an afternoon of music, seasonal readings, and poetry.

Our special guests for the afternoon are the lively Winter’s Eve Trio with Sharlene Wallace on Harp, Joe Macerollo on Accordion and George Koller on Bass. Sharlene Wallace is both a classical harpist and one of Canada’s most prolific and influential Celtic harp players. “While technically virtuosic, her playing always manages to be sensuous and organic, all the while appearing as easy as child’s play.” Born and raised in Guelph, Joe Macerollo has opened the door to the acceptance of the concert accordion in Canada performing classical music with “a raucous, delightful twist”.  A prolific composer, producer, and bassist, George Koller has accumulated hundreds of wildly diverse performing, touring, and recording credits including work with Peter Gabriel, Holly Cole, Bruce Cockburn, and John McDermott, just to name a few.

Guest conductor Gerald Neufeld noted, “I’m pleased to return after only two months of retirement to conduct two Christmas concerts during this transition year for the choir. Christmas music holds a special place in all our hearts with memories of childhood, loved ones remembered, and hope for our collective future. Join us to celebrate the spirit of love, hope and generosity this Christmas season.”

Single tickets are now available for only $25 each or 4 for $80. We encourage young adults to attend with $10 tickets for students and those age 30 and under and only $5 for youth under 14.

Tickets are available from choir or board members, or through the River Run Centre Box Office online - click through at: http://guelphchamberchoir.ca/home/tickets  or call 519-763-3000. Tickets will also be available at the door. General admission seating.
