Board Meeting Highlights for April 2019
The April meeting of the Upper Grand District School Board was held on April 23, 2019

GUELPH, Ontario – The April meeting of the Upper Grand District School Board was held on April 23, 2019. The following provides highlights from the meeting.

Energy Management Team Goals and Action Plan

The board’s Energy Management Team presented its goals and action plan for promoting energy efficiency in the board. The goal of the team is to promote efficient use of energy at the UGDSB in order to ensure maximum dollars are available to classrooms by reducing energy costs, increase public confidence in the board’s ability to efficiently operate its schools, and demonstrate leadership in the area of environmental stewardship while reducing the board’s carbon footprint.

In order to achieve this goal, the Energy Management Team outlined several objectives. As outlined in the action plan, the team will:

• Conduct walk-through energy audits of board facilities
• Track and report board energy and resource use
• Supporting the board’s building renewal program
• Generate savings for the board
• Improve building automation systems
• Encourage behavioral change
• Foster professional learning

Policy Updates
Trustees approved the following revised board policies: Policy 103 Trustee Code of Conduct, and Policy 318 Responsible Use of Digital Technologies. Protocol P02 Home Use of Technology was rescinded.

The next regular monthly meeting will be held on Tues. May 28, 2019, at the Guelph Board Office, 500 Victoria Road North. Everyone is welcome to attend. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
