Originally located in Morriston, and relocating to Downtown Guelph soon after, Creative Edge opened its doors in June 1999.    With a focus on rustic décor for the home and garden, Creative Edge has always carried a selection of antiques mixed with the work of local artists and unique pieces made on site by the storeowner.

Over the 20 years, the store has grown to now include the work of over 35 local artists, with products ranging from benches and side tables, twig obelisks, trellises and arbours, charcuterie boards, frames, mirrors and chalkboards, soaps, candles, pottery, wall décor and more. As always, many pieces are made from reclaimed and salvaged materials, raw twigs, and live edge wood from the area.

Through the years, the Creative Edge gift basket line has grown to include gourmet goodies from several local food producers including Rootham Gourmet Preserves, Barrie’s Asparagus, Tuckamore Bee Company, Planet Bean, and Voisin’s Maple Products.

Owner Heather Grummett says, “Creative Edge is much more to me than just a business that I own.  It was an adventure that my close friend and I began together, at an age when it really didn’t matter if we didn’t completely know what we were doing - and although she moved on to other things, we remain close and I hold those first years close to my heart. Today, my closest Guelph friends can all be linked back to the store - whether connected through a customer, an artist or a fellow business owner.  I even met my husband at the store.”

“I love Downtown Guelph. It continues to be a vibrant part of the city, there’s a great support for the arts community, and customers really believe in shopping local. Thank you to my customers for making this milestone possible.”
