BOREAL’S SONGS FOR THE SNOWY SEASON

Award-winning solo artists Tannis Slimmon, Katherine Wheatley and Angie Nussey come together each winter as Boreal to share their collective talents in a harmonious and uplifting way with their show “Songs For The Snowy Season”.

With spell-binding harmonies, combined tour-de-force songwriting, heart-melting honesty and pure joie de vivre they shine their warm Boreal light on Canada’s coldest and darkest months.

Boreal's lyrics conjure up sights and sounds that bring chills of recognition to the listener: squirrels’ footprints in the snow, winter’s hush, snowball fights, angel truck drivers who lead us home in blizzards.

This year, Angie, Katherine and Tannis have been working “alone-together” in their own home studios and on zoom, writing up a “winter storm” and recording their new songs. With a plan to release one song a month for the next year, the trio is gearing up to launch their new CD in November 2021.

Their first official release (November 25, 2020) is “Snow Falls Down”. Download the WAV or MP3 file for radio broadcasting or view lyric video on YouTube.

Normally this time of year the trio would be busy touring “Songs For The Snowy Season” town-to-town, but due to the pandemic, they have only one show. It will be online and live on December 11th from the River Run Centre in Guelph, Ontario. The silver lining is that everyone from all corners of the globe can watch at the same time. Boreal’s performance is sure to make you laugh, cry, clap, and sing along (if in doubt, sing the word “snow!”).

In 2020, Boreal is extra keen to bring joy, warmth and light to Canada’s darkest and coldest season. Join Angie, Tannis and Katherine as they bring us all warmly together while we stay safely apart.

“With stunningly beautiful voices, Boreal captures the festive spirit like no other act I’ve ever presented. With exquisitely intricate harmonies and heartwarming stories, Boreal connects with their audience in a profound way. Our show was a sellout and
we immediately booked them for next season! Highly recommended!”George Scott (Songwriter’s Showcase Presenter, Alliston, ON)
