Project Neutral (www.projectneutral.org) will allow all Guelph residents to calculate their household carbon footprint, compare to others at the neighbourhood and city levels, and create a reduction action plan moving forward. Guelph will be the first city outside of Toronto to launch Project Neutral as it expands across the province.
Project Neutral will be deployed through Guelph by eMERGE Guelph (emergeguelph.ca), a local not-forprofit organization dedicated to neighbourhood engagement and residential sustainability. eMERGE’s three pathway programs – Efficient Home Visits, Transition Streets and Project Neutral – all focus on energy, water, transportation, waste and food, and promote a home, street and neighbourhood approach to sustainable action.
