Guelph Martial Artist Nathan Skoufis, will be headed to the nation’s capital this weekend for Team Canada qualifications.
Skoufis, 25, became a Team Ontario member with the provincial championships held in London, Ontario.
The top 8 from each province qualify for the national qualifier which will have individuals present from every province.
The top 4 at the national championships will qualify for Team Canada.
The event will draw top martial artists throughout the nation and will include martial arts stylist representing Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Boxing, Kickboxing, Kung Fu and many more.
Team Canada will compete at the world championships held this year in Niagara Falls, USA. Skoufis was invited to qualify by Team Greece but chose instead to represent Team Canada.
Skoufis says
“I am very excited for the event this upcoming weekend it is an honour and a privilege to have the opportunity to qualify for Team Canada. We truly live in the greatest country in the world. I believe the 19 years of training in martial arts has all been working to get to this point”
